The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
